Terni

With LIFE3H project, Terni will experiment the use of two 12 m long hydrogen-powered buses, which will be used on one the busiest public transport lines in the urban area. The hydrogen that will come from the surplus production not used for industrial purposes by the city’s steel plant, and it will be distributed through a storage and refueling station specifically created for buses in the Maratta industrial area. By implementing the principles of circular economy, with this project the City Council will be able to test a new sustainable transport system in the urban environment in so far contributing to reducing the emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere, paving the way for a wider use of hydrogen in Umbria and in Italy.
